Ryan Finn purchased Mini #252 in April through the Mini Yacht Exchange. She is a Finot designed Proto that was raced by American sailor Gale Browning in the 2001 Mini Transat. She was built by Albert Bargues, a carbon fibre specialist, living in Barcelona, Spain. Albert raced 252 in the 1999 Mini Transat and took 9th place out of 70 competitors. 252 was refitted at Category 5 Composites in New Orleans, Lousiana and relaunched in June.

Ryan recently formed a new ocean racing team - Ryan Finn Ocean Racing - to pursue short-handed offfshore racing. On Sep 21st Ryan joined Kip Stone onboard the Owen Clarke designed Open 50 Artforms on a delivery to St. Malo, France for the upcoming Route du Rhum - Kip will be the only Amerincan in the race.

Ryan hopes to be at the starting line in September 2007 for the inaugural Global Ocean Challenge, a round-the-world race for 40 and 50 foot monohulls. Look for information on Ryan's sailing campaigns on ryanfinnoceanracing.com.
